Lawnscaping Challenge #104: Sketch

So after playing a lot with my Beep Boop Birthday set from Lawn Fawn, (I just adore those little robots! And the gears...swoon.) I decided to bust out an older set for an idea I had for the current Lawnscaping Challenge. I used the sketch found here:

I don't normally use sketches. Why? I guess I always liked to make up my own design. I also tend to see a sketch and follow it quite literally. I have a tough time envisioning it as anything other than what it is presented as. All that being said, I did have a flash of inspiration with this sketch.

Spring Wreath:  After working on another design (yup, you guessed it...robots!), I looked at the sketch vertically and it looked like a door. The circle would make a great wreath. I used the 2 flowers in the Summertime Charms set. The door knob is actually the tennis ball stamp found in the Critters in the Burbs set!
To a tan cardstock A2 card, I added the rectangles cut from the chocolate color in the Let's Polka Mon Ami 6 X 6 pad.

I cut a 3" ring from two nesting circles. I stamped the larger and solid flower in Distress inks (Broken China, Scattered Straw, Victorian Velvet) onto white cardstock and cut out. I stamped the smaller and open flower onto three papers from the Let's Polka collections and cut those out. I glued two larger flowers, spaced apart, down to the ring. Then, I glued the smaller flower between them to hide the space.

I added my door knob, glued down the wreath, and stamped my sentiment (also from Summertime Charms) in Jet Black Archival ink (Ranger).

Have a great week!
