Then, I saw the Unity Stamps had the Pretty as a Peacock set. And yup, that was pretty much what I wanted. So I made some cards.
I also saw that Creative Embellishments (who make fantastic chipboard laser die-cuts) had a challenge with a peacock. You can find it HERE.
So naturally, I couldn't wait to get started on my day off!
My favorite thing to do with chipboard is to emboss it. I use a Versamark ink pad and cover the chipboard piece with ink. I sprinkle embossing powder over the top and melt with a heat gun.
The Peacock: I used Zig Real Brush markers on watercolor paper to color in the bird. (I stamped the bird with ColorBox Black pigment ink and embossed it with superfine black powder.) I embossed the feather from Creative Embellishments with a Lindy's embossing powder. I added a patterned paper background and called it done. It's pretty simple but I wanted the focus to be on the colored bird. The sparkle of the feather, though, adds just the right touch.
Thanks for the look-see!
