Last Two for Pattern Play

I thought I'd pretty much finished up what I wanted to post with this class: Pattern Play but figured I'd show off these two cards.

Be Yourself: Just using up scraps from other cards I'd been doing. Dragon stamp is from Lawn Fawn: Critters Ever After set, and papers are from Hot Off the Press: Batik collection. The dragon is stamped on patterned paper with just the dots colored in with a touch of shading. I like the banner treatment at the top and will be doing more of that!

Blue Poppy: I cut up the whole sheet of the K&Company paper (a Tim Coffey collection from years ago!) and made several quick little cards with it. But this is much more my style. It looks less "scrapbook" and more "mixed media" to me. I covered the front of an A2 card with a dictionary page and inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I cut out the poppy design from the sheet and used a glue stick to adhere to the bottom half of the card. I sprayed a Smooch purple over it. (that's the shimmer you see in the upper right corner. Then, decided to drop ink on it. (I used a Distress Ink Re-inker: Scattered Straw)

Enjoy!

  1. I love the mixed media blue poppy card. A person can only take so much "clean and simple" and it's nice to see something beautifully different pop up in the galley.
